Not even 20 percent of U.S. know a lot or a great deal about rebates for energy-saving products 

Earlier this year, the Associated Press - NORC Center for Public Affairs Research conducted a survey on how American's understand and act on energy issues. The results are fascinating. Even the summary states, "the survey reveals a surprising lack of public understanding of the nation’s most prominent energy savings programs." This should remind all participants in the energy efficiency industry that there is more work to do to engage the consumer to participate.

Energy Codes Make Homes More Efficient

According to the Institute for Market Transformation, household energy use is lower than it was in the 1980's, even as household buy and use more electronic devices.

Why? Building energy codes have driven an increase in the energy efficiency of homes. Houses today are 44% more efficient. This infographic explains where that efficiency is coming from.
